Our "vacation"

We really wanted to go somewhere for Labor Day weekend, but decided we just didn't have the money. So, we had our own version of a "vacation". We stayed here, but did things that we would have done if we'd been on vacation. We took the boys to the dollar theater to see Kung Fu Panda. Evan laughed out loud and loved it, while Kabe took Don on a tour of the outside of the theater. We should learn that Kabe is just not ready for the movies, but we keep trying anyway. After the movie we went bowling, which really was the highlight of the day. It was so fun!













Kabe is Mr. Independent right now, and had to bowl all by himself. His feet only got smashed once. Overall he did really good and absolutely loved it. Evan even got a spare! It was so cute to see bowling shoes on the boys.













After bowling we went to a park and spent an hour or so exploring all of the hidden trails. We found some fun stuff, like cool leaves and acorns and other nature stuff, and we found some gross stuff, like the who-knows-how-old dog poop that Kabe picked up to study before we could stop him. All in all, it was a fun stop.

We ended the day at Applebee's. Kabe hadn't had a nap, so I was a little worried about how that would go, but he did very well. We had a very successful and fun vacation.
