After Kabe caught his first one, it slipped out of Grandpa's hands and landed under the chair. He was pretty scared of it and wouldn't stand anywhere near it for a picture.
And Don's been fishing before, but he's never in his entire life caught anything. Until now...
With Grandma and Grandpa, we caught 13 fish in about an hour and a half. Not bad for a day's work. We really never had a line in the water for more than a minute or two without a fish on the other end of the line. That's the way fishing should be. It was really fun and relaxing. For being such a small town, Rupert has a really great 4th of July celebration. The scouts make a wonderful breakfast on the morning of the 4th. After we filled our tummies, we went to the parade. There was so much candy handed out that it really rivaled the Halloween haul. It wasn't too hot, just warm. It was a really nice morning.
Don's cousins, Dallin and Liz, recently moved not too far from my parents, so we got to go see them and their new house. We had a great visit and we're so glad that we will still get to see them fairly often.
On the drive home, we had to drive through an awful rainstorm. The prelude to that was this amazing sunset. It was really beautiful and a great way to top of a great, relaxing, family-filled weekend.
