Chicken and Syrup

Kabe was helping me say the family prayer last night. I was saying a phrase and he would repeat it. It went something like this:

Me: We're thankful for our blessings.

Kabe: Blessings

Me: Please bless mom.

Kabe: a mom

Me: We're grateful for our house...

Kabe: Say chicken!

Me: We're grateful for our house...

Kabe: Say chicken! dad!

Me: (laughing) Chicken

Kabe: (grinning) Chicken

Me: Please bless...

Kabe: Syrup!

Me: (laughing harder) Syrup

Maybe he knows something about chicken and syrup that I don't. I'm just glad that he's learning to say what he wants to say in his prayers.
